Entirely Handcrafted in Scotland and Hallmarked with the unique feature Scottish Sterling Silver hallmark registered with the Assay Office of Scotland to Scottish Antiques. This is our most popular kiltpin with its size at 4" being a classical proportion to be worn on your day or dress kilt.

The Assay Office of Scotland has been responsible for maintaining records, according registered ‘Sponsor’ or ‘makers’ marks and is the sole agency in Scotland responsible for recognising the purity and quality control of all pieces of Silver and Gold produced and registered in Scotland. This remains the sole responsibility of the Assay Office of Scotland today in 2005 and this has been their heritage since records began in 1457!

The unique ‘sponsor’s’ mark accorded to Tantalus Antiques, recognised and recorded with the Assay Office of Scotland is a twin circle encasing the initial letters ‘TA’.

The design of these kiltpins is influenced by the ancient Scottish 14th century broadsword, The Claymore. The Claymore was an ‘oversized ‘ two handled hilt sword and a formidable weapon wielded by the most staunch of Scottish Hielandmen.

The kiltpins are designed to be worn with pride drawing on the ancient traditions of Scottish heritage along with the hallmark of quality assurance recognised and impressed with the authority of the Scottish Assay Office with the unique hallmark registered to Scottish Antiques.
